The Pondering of Post Office Possibility

Tuesday May 20th March – Shoreditch “Stage Time”

Brothers Charlie and Aaron are stuck in their routine, Pheasant pluckers by trade, a proud family business, Charlie plucks the pheasants, Aaron does the marketing, each sticks to their role and it works.

But Charlie has bigger ambitions, why should he have to listen to his brother all the time? His rules, and plans and insistence on hand washing for “health and safety” reason, Charlie’s had enough, he has dreams, and plans of his own, it’s time, time to start his own post office, but does he have the courage to follow his dream……………….

World 1: A thriving business is born, a brotherly bond is broken.

Charlie stands up to Aaron and goes off to start his own business, Feather Mail, enlisting the help of the family cat, Jess MKII, Charlie aims to enlist a fleet of animals to deliver people’s post, it’s innovative, it’s creative, it’s cute, and most importantly, it’s a hit.

But success never comes without price, and without his brother Aaron’s constant reminders, health and safety standards begin to slip, and a surprise inspection could have disasterous consequcens…..but is this the world our audience chose to keep, or was it……….

World 2: Wasted Dreams and Washed Hands.

Charlie doesn’t have the courage to stand up to Aaron, who insists they continue as is, Charlie just need to knuckle down and keep up standards, and most importantly, listen to the wisdom of his big brother when it comes to hand washing technique.

But, we discover things aren’t going so well in the Pheasant Plucking world, it’s a dying trade, they need to innovate, find something new, if only they’d found a gap in the market to exploit like that animal based postal delivery service that just opened up, but I guess Aaron and Charlie just don’t have good ideas like that, at least that’s what Aaron believes…..but which would did our audience choose to keep?

Free to follow your dreams, caged in prison thereafter.

Having chosen to follow his Post office dreams, the lack of health and safety catches up with Charlie, after an in-depth investigation uncovers multiple infractions, Charlie is taken away by the draconian Health and Safety exec, maybe he should have just stayed with Aaron after all.
